SCWCA members are invited for a pre-tour at the studios of members Deborah Lambert and Shelley Heffler at the Beacon Arts Building.

The Ingelwood Open Studios continue from 12-5pm on Nov. 8 & 9. 2014. Several women artists in the Beacon Arts Building will also open studios early for SCWCA members during the pre-tour.

"There's a Shape in These Hills I Know" is an exhibition of new work by San Francisco based artist Amber Jean Young at Subliminal Projects on Sunset Blvd. The exhibit features fabrics, sculptures, quilts and wall hangings. Young combines photography and quilting featuring imagery of her rural home in Northern California and its environs. The work speaks of memory, nostalgia and the dismantling of the familiar. Thru 11/15/14.

Join in this casual day of art viewing at Bergamot. We will meet at the Lora Schlesinger Gallery at 11 am to view and discuss "Hamon" or cloud-like patterns, a series of aluminum abstract paintings by New York artist Miya Ando (image left) and the "Myth of Balance," new works by Tuscon-based artist Carrie Seid (image right) that are made from silk, aluminum, mylar and acrylic. Weather permitting, we will enjoy a no-host lunch at Bergamot Cafe. It is fine to bring prospective members as guests.

A public conversation at Avenue 50 Studio moderated by Sandra Mueller and organized by the SCWCA Eco-Art Collective titled "Collectives and Collaborations" is set for Sat. 6/22/13 from 2-4 pm.
