This "Remembrance" exhibition features the large, lush abstract paintings from Deborah Thomas' days as a New York studio artist hanging alongside more recent installations, writings and collaborative projects where she often delved into photographs and text on themes of family, found memory, landscape and the environment.

A public conversation at Avenue 50 Studio moderated by Sandra Mueller and organized by the SCWCA Eco-Art Collective titled "Collectives and Collaborations" is set for Sat. 6/22/13 from 2-4 pm. Panelists are Beth Elliott and Heather Hoggan from the Arroyo Arts Collective and Ann Isolde and MaryLinda Moss from the SCWCA Eco-Art Collective.

This panel runs in conjunction with the Deborah Thomas "Remembrance" exhibition at Avenue 50 Studio. The afternoon will include sharing Artist Trading Cards, viewing a video on Sarah Sze (image included), who is representing the USA at the Venice Biennale this year and a discussion led by Karen Schifman on what's happening in museums and with gallery representation for women artists.
