SCWCA artists are invited to submit current art works on the theme of “phenomona” whether approached through a human or natural, intuitive or observed lens. The exhibition will explore the artistic response to living in a rapidly changing yet interconnected world and take place at the Neutra Institute Museum and Gallery, Silver Lake, CA from October 14-28, 2017. SCWCA artists are invited to submit current art works on the theme of “phenomona” whether approached through a human or natural, intuitive or observed lens. The exhibition will explore the artistic response to living in a rapidly changing yet interconnected world.

The exhibition will take place at the Neutra Institute Museum and Gallery, Silver Lake, CA from October 14-28, 2017.

Eligibility: All members of the Southern California Women’s Caucus for Art are invited to participate in the “phenomena” exhibition. Others who wish to participate must join first — please email scwcashows@gmail.com for more information.

Online submissions: Each member may submit one recent (created within the last 3 years) artwork that does not exceed 36? in any direction. Media may include painting, prints, photography, drawing, digital art, mixed media, sculpture and videos. Sculpture and pedestal footprint not to exceed 24” in any direction.

There is a $10.00 required entry fee, and work must be submitted in advance using the EntryThingy portal at http://www.entrythingy.com/d=scwca.org#show=3862.

• Deadline for entry is September 15, 2017. No extensions.
• Name JPEG using artist’s name and title. Example: Smith_funhouse2.jpg.
• Do not use quotation marks, colons or semi-colons in file names.
• Submit all images in RGB color mode.
• Submit JPEGs sized approximately 4” x 6” at 300 dpi resolution and 1200 pixels wide. Maximum file size is 8 megabytes.
• Mark dimensions as height x width x depth. Indicate whether inches or feet.
• Review your submission using the “juror’s view” in Entrythingy before submitting and paying for your entry. Do not use special characters or punctuation marks or copy/paste heavily formatted text.

Specifications: All artworks must be suitably framed (works on paper) with a wire hanging apparatus (no clip or saw-tooth hangers), and ready for installation. Artists are responsible for their own pedestals and video/sound equipment. Artists must provide their own insurance.

NOTE: Organizers have the right to refuse work that does not match the submission or criteria

Delivery of artwork: Work must be hand delivered (sorry no mailed work) to Neutra Institute Museum, on Tuesday Oct. 10 from 10-4 p.m and there will be additional drop off locations for Sunday, Oct. 8 by arrangement.

Pickup of artwork: All work must be picked up by Sunday, Oct. 29th from 10-12 or at the end of the Closing Reception.

Sales: The Neutra will retain 50% of all sales.

Reception: The opening reception will take place on Saturday, October 14, 4-7 pm with a closing event on Saturday, October 28, 2-5 p.m.

Publicity: SCWCA may use images of the submitted artwork for publicity purposes. Artists agree to allow reproduction of their digital files/and or photographs taken of their art for educational, publicity, and archival purposes.
