“Bridge the Gap” in New York City February 14-16, 2019

 

Sandra Mueller and Ann Isolde represented the SCWCA chapter at the February 2019 WCA BRIDGE THE GAP Conference in New York City. Sandra serves on the national WCA Board as well as being the Southern California representative of The Feminist Art Project and attended all conference related meetings and panels. Ann represented SCWCA at the WCA Chapters’ Council meeting as well as working at the WCA Book Table at the College Art Association Book Expo to promote the Personal Voices / Cultural Visions book along with other WCA publications. Sandra and Ann attend the Lifetime Achievement Awards reception and ceremony and the National WCA Board Meeting.

The Women’s Caucus for Art (WCA) is pleased to announce the recipients for the 2019 WCA Lifetime Achievement (LTA) Awards: Olga de Amaral, Mary Beth Edelson, Gladys Barker Grauer, and Mira Schor.  The recipients for the 2019 President’s Art & Activism Award are L.J. Roberts and Aruna D’Souza.

The celebration kicked-off with a ticketed cocktail reception from 5:30-7:00pm at the New York Institute for Technology (NYIT) on Saturday, February 16, 2019. Guests were treated to three food stations, open bar, and the opportunity to congratulate the awardees. Immediately following the reception at 7:00pm, doors opened for attendees for the Awards ceremony in the NYIT Auditorium. The LTA Awards ceremony from 7:30-9:00pm was free and open to the public.
